Trevor Whittington served as Chief of Staff to various Ministers in the Western Australian Government for many years prior to 2017, including the agricultural and fishing portfolios. During that period, he returned to UWA to complete a Masters in International Relations on Live Exports and a Masters of International Law on Sustainable Fishing, adding to his earlier BA (Hons). He later worked with the Bunuba Aboriginal Corporation and took up the role of Chairman of Wines of Western Australia. In 2019 he was appointed as CEO of the Western Australian Farmers Association (WAFarmers). Trevor grew up on the family sheep farm near Corrigin. He recently reacquired part of that land and together with his two sons, manages a 1200-hectare wheat, barley and lupin cropping program. Trevor is passionate about agriculture and agricultural science, the partnership between farmers and scientists, and its impact on human welfare and development.
