Getting to Net Zero
Join us on 6 August to hear from leading experts on Australia’s energy transition to net zero, its challenges and opportunities, and what it means for climate change
The ACT Division Committee are excited to welcome you to our third hybrid seminar for 2025, which will explore the topic of Australia’s energy transition towards net zero greenhouse gas emissions. We will hear from three of our ACT Fellows – from a national and ACT perspective, and in the context of what it means for mitigating climate change.
12:00pm - 12:30pm - In-person networking
12:30pm - 2:00pm - In-person and online presentation
Drew Clarke AO FTSE will draw on his deep experiences to describe Australia’s energy transition – the challenges and the opportunities it presents to Australia, and the role for ATSE and allied learned academies in developing the knowledge, information and technologies needed to support this energy transition.
Professor Ken Baldwin FTSE will describe the role of the energy transition in achieving Australia’s goal of net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 (and by 2045 for the ACT).
Dr Helen Cleugh FTSE will respond to the two energy-focussed presentations from the perspective of what they mean for climate change and its impacts on Australia.
We hope you can join us in person or online for what will be an informative and relevant seminar. For those who can attend at ATSE’s Head Office in Forrest, a light lunch will be available from 12 noon – providing refreshments and a chance to catch up with friends and colleagues.
This event is open to all.
