Water engineering leader Professor Stuart Khan FTSE, global mining industry innovator John McGagh FTSE and pharmaceutical champion Kylie Sproston FTSE have been appointed to the board of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ATSE).
Stuart Khan is Professor and Head of School of Civil Engineering at the University of Sydney. He has published over 200 peer reviewed journal articles on issues relating to water quality and treatment, including drinking water, wastewater, recreational water, environmental water systems, water recycling and desalination. Most recently, Stuart was Chair of the ATSE Water Forum and helped steward the Academy’s highly impactful project A Thriving Murray-Darling Basin in 50 Years: Actions in the face of climate change.
John McGagh was the Global Head of Innovation at Rio Tinto, and led the development of important research and development centres in universities that are addressing key technical issues for the global mining industry. He has actively contributed to ATSE as Chair of the Mineral Resources Forum and recently led a project looking at the technical and market implications of small modular reactors in Australia.
Kylie Sproston is the CEO of Bellberry and an experienced leader whose career has been spent in the global Pharmaceutical and Biotech industries. A Chartered Engineer, Kylie has expertise across the full pharmaceutical product lifecycle, and has held key positions in both technical, management and executive functions. Kylie is a continuing board member after filling a casual vacancy for the past year.
