Apply now to receive STELR equipment
The STELR Fund of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ATSE) provides full and partial donations of STELR kits to schools around Australia. STELR kits are in thousands of schools around the country, giving primary and high-school students hands-on and practical experience in science and engineering on topics that matter to them.
STELR has been running for 15 years, in that time bringing hands-on science and engineering education to thousands of students, and providing their teachers with curriculum-aligned classroom resources to assist with classes. From renewable energy to sustainable housing and solar cars, the STELR kits are a treasured part of many Australian science classrooms.
About the STELR Fund
The STELR Fund is a way for schools to get free and discounted STELR kits, thanks to generous ATSE donors. The STELR Fund gives out classroom STELR kits with enough materials to support a whole class of primary or high-school science and technology students.
Eligibility
All Australian high schools are eligible to apply. In selecting the recipients, priority will be given to schools that do not already have STELR kits, and which have an ICSEA below 1000.
Our aim is to get high quality STEM education resources into as many schools around Australia as possible.
Key dates
The STELR Fund selects recipient schools twice a year, with applications open year-round. Applications are considered in late February and late July for distribution in March and August respectively.
We are currently conducting the initial pilot round of the STELR Fund applications, with applications open until the end of November while we finetune the application and selection process.
Current application round: November-December 2025.
Complete your application by Friday 28 November to be considered in this round of the STELR Fund.
